For many singles, meeting someone can be difficult. After friends try to set you up with someone, and fail, you need to find other places to meet the future love of your life. Fortunately, there are a few places where you can go on your own meet someone.

If you have always wanted to learn something new, look into the courses available in your community. Not only will you fulfill your educational needs, you could also meet someone in class with the same interests as you.
The Gym
Most people who go to the gym, are on a schedule. They often go at the same time each day. Because you will often see the same people all the time at the gym, there is a sense of community, which should make approaching someone that you are interested in, less awkward. It is also good to find someone who is a fitness conscious as you are.
Volunteer Work
Being a volunteer is a great way to do something for the community. If you want to meet someone nice, you can easily find them doing volunteer work. Anyone who is willing to give up their free time to help those less fortunate could be worth dating.
Grocery Stores
The grocery store is a very non-threatening place to meet someone. While there are likely going to be plenty of people there of the opposite sex, it will take a great opening line to get a date at the grocery store. The good news is, that if you strike out, at least you got your shopping for the week done.
The Internet
Many people shy away from internet dating, due to the stigma which is put on it. This is a mistake. Millions of relationships and marriages were made through online dating. If you choose to use this method to meet your future love, be sure to do so safely.
Sporting Events
If you are an avid sports fan, sporting events are a great place to meet singles. You do not need to purchase expensive tickets to a big game to meet someone. You can check out the local sporting events going on in your community, and hopefully find the future love of your life.
Bars
Many people meet singles in bars. While this can be effective, you need to go about it the right way. If you are going to a bar to try to meet someone, avoid drinking too much. Nobody wants to have a conversation with a sloppy drunk. The more sober you are, the better you will be able to weed out the good ones from the bad.
Bookstores
Many of the large bookstores have large couches and chairs for customers to sit down and read. This is a great way to meet someone. If you see someone reading a book that you have read, or that you plan to read, it is a great conversation starter.
Meeting someone new is not as difficult as you may think. If you go to the right places, you should be able to meet someone interesting, who is worth getting to know better.
