Relationships are sometimes difficult to keep together. Work, family and stress can really break apart a relationship, especially over time. So here are a few ways to make your relationship last.
Change It Up
If you have been in a relationship for a few years, or even a few months, the daily routine with each other can start to get monotonous. You go out to the same place when you do actually stop Netflixing your favorite shows, and you eat the same thing! You are too comfortable and get stuck in a rut. Both sexes enjoy a little bit of change, so maybe go to a different place on date night, or make a surprise stop at an art studio if your partner loves art, or go for a hike if your partner is a secret nature lover. Boring is bad; switch it up!
Teach Your Partner
When you teach your partner something new, this tests your partner’s trust as well as your teaching skills. Are you patient? Is your partner a bad student? These are important relationship testers that can strengthen your bonds. Teach your partner how you like it in bed or how to make your favorite meal or even how to surf or drive a manual.
Learn From Your Partner
Your partner will want to teach you, as well, and you need to be just as open to the experience. If your partner is a personal trainer, let him or her show you how to properly lift weights. If you two are not as sexually matched, ask what your partner likes. When you learn from your partner, you will end up finding out what makes your partner tick and what is important to him or her.
Bring on the Affection
Most couples go through a beginning “honeymoon phase” that dies off. However, bring that love back. One of the easiest ways to do this is making time for appropriate public displays of affection, such as holding hands, walking closely together, eye-gazing over dinner, and sharing small whispers in your partner’s ear. Make sure to give it often and really make your partner feel like he or she is the only person in the whole world. It will help to keep the romance alive, and using these tactics whenever making love can intensify your partner’s feelings for you and keep the relationship thriving.
Use All of Your Senses
Your partner has five senses, as you do, and having them stimulated creates some powerful feelings. So put on your partner’s favorite music and wear the outfit he or she likes best. Put on some cologne or perfume, touch your partner, and invigorate his or her tastes buds with great food and sweet kisses. Basically, you really want to pull out all of the stops sometimes to really show your partner that you care and you are still in love with him or her.
These are just a few ways that you can help your relationship flourish.
